Amazon says it is abandoning DEI and scaling back diversity and inclusion programs
As it became known, Amazon Vice President of Inclusion Initiatives and Technologies Candy Castleberry, in a memo to employees, announced that the company has decided to abandon a number of programs related to supporting equality, diversity and inclusion (DEI). p>
The memo states that “the company will focus on those programs that have already shown good results.” At the same time, “Amazon remains committed to creating a truly inclusive culture.”
Amazon declined to share details about how the changes will affect the company’s projects, including games, films and TV series. but it's likely that users may soon notice positive changes in this area.
Bloomberg reports that Amazon has abandoned DEI amid the success of anti-DEI advocates who have already won the program's cancellation in a number of major US companies such like Microsoft, Google, Walmart, McDonald's and others.
