Chinese Loongson is preparing a new video card, which will be at the level of RTX 2080 in terms of power

As it became known, the Chinese chip manufacturer Loongson is preparing a new graphics processor Loongson 9A2000, which will be significantly faster than the current 9A1000.

According to a company representative, the new GPU will be 8-10 times more productive than its predecessor and will be able to compete with NVIDIA’s flagship solutions of the generation before last. The Loongson 9A2000 will be comparable in performance to the RTX 2080.

At the moment, the new video card does not support DX12, but it may appear in the future. However, according to a company representative, the new product will have enough power to run Black Myth: Wukong, which can also work with DX11. Judging by the tests, the owner of an RTX 2080 can count on 90-100 FPS at medium settings in 1080p resolution, i.e. it is assumed that the Loongson 9A2000 will be able to produce similar results in the game.

Despite the fact that the Loongson 9A2000 is significantly weaker than modern top-end video cards from AMD and NVIDIA, the new video card is still a big step forward for the Chinese market, since it provides Chinese consumers have their own GPU, which is protected from possible sanctions from the United States.
