DLSS 4 Super Resolution Transformer significantly improves the image in Red Dead Redemption 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2
MxBenchmarkPC shared a comparison video showcasing the image quality improvements the new model brings to Red Dead Redemption 2 and STALKER 2.
In Rockstar Games' open world title, the biggest change is in the quality of vegetation, as the new model significantly reduces Vegetation flickering compared to previous upscaling version using CNN model. Hair rendering is also improved with better stability and less anti-aliasing. On the other hand, in the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 NVIDIA DLSS 4, which uses the Transformer model, significantly improves image stability and reduces the flickering of vegetation, similar to Red Dead Redemption 2.
The new Transformer model is not the only innovation that NVIDIA DLSS 4 brings to the game. Multi-frame generation, which will be exclusive to the RTX 50 series cards, will deliver up to 8x the performance boost over DLSS 3, allowing you to enjoy fully path-traced games at high frame rates and resolutions. For example, Cyberpunk 2077 can run path tracing in Overdrive Mode at over 120fps at 4K resolution on the RTX 5080, which is extremely impressive considering how cumbersome path tracing is in almost every game that supports it.
NVIDIA DLSS 4 will make its official debut next week, January 30th, when it will be possible to use the new Override feature to update to the latest version of the upscaler in any game. which already supports previous versions.
