The twin blades of Final Fantasy IX recreated in real life
One talented Final Fantasy IX fan has created an amazing replica of Zidane Mage Masher swords from real life.
While Final Fantasy IX may not be as popular or memorable as Final Fantasy VII before her or Final Fantasy X after, the release of the legendary JRPG Square franchise Enix 2000 still has a small, but a devoted number of fans.
What's more, some gameplay elements even influenced later games, such as last year's Final Fantasy VII remake.
In the early stages of Final Fantasy IX, players usually switch between the two Mage Mashers of the main character and the aspiring thief Zidane Tribala to stronger blades, but the pair of interlocking swords remains his most recognizable weapon.
Indeed, he is frequently shown with them during his guest appearances in the Dissidia Final Fantasy series and other Final Fantasy spin-offs, just as Cloud Strife rarely can be seen without his iconic Buster Sword.
It's also easy to see why, as Mage Mashers have a simple yet elegant design that matches Zidane's dashing personality and agility-focused fighting style, and their the ability to combine into one two-bladed sword is cool.
