Game director of Helldivers 2 on the DEI rating: “Games should give unforgettable emotions, and not be a platform for politics”

As it became known, one of the users asked Arrowhead Studios game director Johan Pilestedt what the developer thinks about imposing a DEI rating on developers when creating a game.

According to Pilestedt, DEI spoils the gaming experience if it does not add There's nothing new in the game. The developer believes that games should give players unforgettable moments, as they did in the old days, and not be a platform for political statements.

According to Pilestedt, he does not like labels at all, however, if he had to introduce DEI into Helldivers 2, then with the help of it the developer would like to show humanity’s strong xenophobia towards alien invaders.
