Dying Light 2 players are actively working on reworking the game in order to bring back most of the cut content

Dying Light 2 players are actively working on a large-scale project, the goal of which is to restore the cut content and improve the game to the version presented at E3 2019. With modding support from Techland, players hope that their modifications will even be available on consoles.

The project, known as the E3 Definitive Mod, promises significant changes: a redesign of the game interface, the return of the original character models and infected, as well as improved animations and game mechanics. For example, the game's UI will be closer to what was shown at E3 2019, including stamina and health indicators. Players will also be able to notice changes in the display of the time of day and in the reactions of the infected to light in the “Dark Zones”.

Changes will also affect the design of the main character - the biomarker will become closer to the original concept, and the grappling hook will be noticeably attached to his belt. Additionally, new animations will be added, including the use of objects and attacks with melee weapons, which will make the gameplay more dynamic and closer to the original game of 2015.

In the future, it is planned to rework the city of Villedor, update the infrastructure and trains, as well as return the deleted area Elysium via Project Renaissance. This will allow players to explore new areas not available in the final game.

Techland is gradually ending official support for Dying Light 2 and will focus on other projects such as the spin-off The Beast and future games in the Dying universe Light.
