Players are disappointed with Warhorse Studios for using Denuvo in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and are canceling pre-orders for the game
Yesterday it became known that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be protected by Denuvo and, unlike the original game, will not be released on the GOG store, at least at release.
Players were very disappointed with the decision of Warhorse Studios and the publishing house Deep Silver to use protection in the game: users fear that the sequel, like the original game, would have had serious performance problems without Austrian protection, and now they will only get worse.
In a day on Steam Many threads have appeared in which players report that they decided to refuse to pre-order the game / cancel the existing one after it became known about the use of Denuvo - players say that they supported the developers in 2018 by purchasing the original game and without any protection , and were ready to do the same with the upcoming sequel, but now they have changed their mind.
The good news is that publisher Deep Silver has always removed Denuvo protection after a certain time until now - usually a year or two . This was the case, for example, with Metro: Exodus and Agents of Mayhem. Denuvo protection is still present in Dead Island 2, but most likely its removal is also a matter of time - it is possible that the protection will be removed on October 22, when a major patch for the game with New Game + and the “Hordes” mode will be released.
Therefore, players who prefer not to contact Denuvo need only patiently wait until the publisher itself removes the protection - probably by then the game will receive a number of patches with bug fixes and planned story additions.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released on February 11, 2025 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
