Leak: a new part of the brutal shooter Doom will be released in May this year

It looks like a new shooter from gaming industry veterans id Software won't be long in coming. According to a leak from the French publication Gamekult, a new DOOM game, entitled DOOM: The Dark Ages, will be released this spring. To be more precise, the release of the project is allegedly scheduled for May 15, 2025, which is confirmed by an article from journalists, which was promptly deleted. However, some of the text was saved by attentive users.

The leaked excerpt describes the game as a “medieval prequel” that will “spill blood and guts on our consoles.” It is also claimed that the release date and new details were revealed as part of the Xbox Developer_Direct presentation. Specific details about the game have not yet leaked, but the release date indicated in the material looks as plausible as possible.

It is noteworthy that the specified date - May 15 - does not look like a random placeholder usually used in digital stores. It seems that the Gamekult publication had already received a press release on the game in advance and accidentally published the article ahead of schedule.

Whether the information will be confirmed will become known very soon: Xbox Developer_Direct will begin on January 23 at 21:00 Moscow time.
