Nvidia's honesty: the manufacturer cheated the RTX 5090 tests and deceived users

Nvidia is once again at the center of a scandal due to manipulations with the performance demonstration of its new flagship graphics card RTX 5090, which was officially presented at CES 2025. Attentive users noticed that the data presented at the presentation was not entirely honest.

During the RTX 5090 performance demo, Nvidia showed a significant increase in power over the RTX 4090, especially in the image generation task using neural networks. However, the small text below the graph revealed the real details:

Such tests distort the real state of affairs. The work of a video card with neural networks directly reflects its performance in AI tasks. If the RTX 5090 does not show real gains in this area, then in games the result may be even less impressive, especially if developers do not implement specific optimizations for the new architecture.

Although Nvidia demonstrates an almost twofold advantage of the RTX 5090 over the RTX 4090 , this result may turn out to be an empty marketing ploy. Actual gaming performance may be far from the stated figures. Users can only wait for independent tests at release to understand whether the new product will justify its price tag.
