Resident Evil Village will run in 4K dynamic resolution and ray tracing on PS5

Resident Evil Village, the next major chapter in the horror series CAPCOM, just got a ton of new information thanks to the updated product page on the PlayStation website.

First, the page provides technical details on PS5 features, including full DualSense and Tempest 3D AudioTech support, fast loading times thanks to the console's extremely fast SSD, and dynamic 4K resolution with ray tracing.

  • Stunning visuals: Explore beautiful yet terrifying views and locations in Resident Evil Village in 4K resolution* with ray tracing.
  • Fast-Loading: Instantly pick up where you left off with little to no loading thanks to the power of the PS5 console's ultra-high-speed SSD.
  • Adaptive Triggers: feel the weight and pull of your weapon triggers for even more immersion.
  • Haptic Feedback: Simulate the feeling of firing a real gun with haptic feedback.
  • Tempest 3D AudioTech on compatible headphones: Surround yourself with carefully curated music and survival horror sounds in Resident Evil Village.
  • 3D Audio enhances the experience by making you feel sounds billowing from all directions.

Dynamic 4K and HDR requires a compatible 4K and HDR capable TV or display. CAPCOM is already making its ray tracing debut in Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, so it won't be the first release.

Looking at this game, which also runs on the RE Engine, we can assume that Resident Evil Village may have reflections, lighting, and shadows with ray racing .

A release date for the new Resident Evil game has yet to be announced, other than 2021. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, making it a "next-gen exclusive".

The action takes place several years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Biohazard Resident Evil 7.

An all-new storyline begins with Ethan Winters and his wife, Mia, living peacefully in a new place, free from past nightmares. As they build a new life together, tragedy strikes again.
