“We offered to make a sequel, but EA is not interested in it”: Visceral veterans would like to return Dead Space
The authors of the first part of Dead Space again invited Electronic Arts to create a continuation of the cult series. Glen Scofield, Bret Robbins and Christopher Stone, veterans of Visceral Games who developed the original, said they had a lot of ideas for Dead Space 4. However, Electronic Arts refused to cooperate.
Christopher Stone added that he understands the decision EA, citing the state of the modern gaming industry, where publishers are reluctant to give new or risky projects a chance.
The last part of the trilogy, Dead Space 3, was released in 2013 year, but its reception was mixed. After this, Visceral Games was closed, and many developers went to other studios.
Scofield did not leave the horror genre, creating The Callisto Protocol, which became an unsuccessful spiritual successor to Dead Space.
