Big purge on YouTube: Google announced new measures to combat clickbait videos
YouTube has finally decided to deal with the clickbait that everyone is tired of. You know when you open a video with a loud title and a bright picture, and it’s not at all what they promised? Now they will fight this seriously.
In fact, the problem is long overdue - just go to the main page of YouTube to run into a dozen videos with screaming headlines and shocked faces in the preview. This is especially true for news videos, where a dummy is often hidden behind a catchy picture. Google no longer intends to tolerate such tricks and promises to remove such videos without warning. For example, if the title shouts about the resignation of the president, but the video itself doesn’t even mention this, goodbye views.
To begin with, the new rules will be tested on Indian YouTube and only on fresh videos. Authors are given time to calmly get used to the changes and rework their content before the system goes live worldwide.
