Dragon Age: The Veilguard Lost Almost 50% of Steam Players Less Than 10 Days After Release
Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the long-awaited entry in the franchise, was released on October 31st. However, the total number of concurrent players playing the game on Steam was not as high as expected for such a highly anticipated installment in one of the popular franchises. And now, literally 10 days after release, the number of players in the game has almost halved.
As you can see in the image above, Dragon Age: The Veilguard peaked 5 days ago. So it's surprising that the game has lost almost 50% of its player base so quickly, even though it is an RPG.
For comparison: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, a 13-year-old game, still gains more than 22 thousand players per day. Similarly, in Elden Ring, Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Black Myth: Wukong and The Witcher 3 the number of players in 24 hours reaches 37, 71, 40, 104 and 19 thousand players respectively.
< p>It makes sense that the main story lasts about 50 hours, and 100% completion will take about a hundred hours, so these players most likely have already completed the game. Still, it's not typical for an RPG to lose a huge number of players just 10 days after release.
