Rockstar May Finally Bring Ray Tracing to Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC

Earlier today, Rockstar updated the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 and added the BattlEye anti-cheat to it. And according to reports, this could be the first step in bringing the current-gen console version of the game to PC.

This means we can finally get the ray tracing effects that Rockstar added to the PS5 and Xbox versions Series X. Rockstar used RT to improve shadows and reflections in the game. Along with RT reflections, the PS5/Xbox Series X versions had Career Progress for GTA Online. The PC version never received this feature.

Noted game data miner Tez examined the new files released with the update and noticed a remaining metadata file that reportedly hints that Rockstar is working on a port Next-gen updates from consoles to PC.
