The announcement of Resident Evil 5 Remake may be approaching
According to Tech4Gamers, Capcom may soon announce a remake of Resident Evil 5, according to some hints that appeared on the original game's Steam page. In fact, the Japanese company is following the same pattern as before the announcement of the Resident Evil 4 remake, making unusual changes to the page for the 2009 game.
Among the latest: removing the title of the game, its base part and release date, which is similar to how it was done before the announcement of the Resident Evil 4 remake. Such changes, reported by X-account "PRE-Alarabiya", are especially important considering that Capcom has not updated this page for approximately three years. This may be Capcom's way of setting the stage to distinguish the original game from a potential remake, as it has done in the past by rebranding Resident Evil 4 to "Resident Evil 4 (2005)" on Steam.
In recent years, the Resident Evil franchise has been known for its successful remakes. The latest of these, Resident Evil 4 Remake, has sold over 8 million copies. Considering that the number of copies sold throughout the saga is approaching 160 million, it is understandable that Capcom would like to maintain this momentum. Although the Resident Evil 5 remake is unlikely to be released this year, it could be officially announced before the end of 2024.
Capcom has not yet made an official statement regarding a possible Resident Evil 5 remake, so for now it remains in doubt areas of guesswork based on specific, but not absolute information.
