The first update with various fixes has been released for the Silent Hill 2 remake
Bloober Team has released update 1.004 for Silent Hill 2 on PS5 and PC, which adds new graphics features and fixes bugs. While players can't expect any new story-related content, the patch brings a lot of technical improvements. Despite the number, this update is the first for the game after its release.
The update weighs 128 MB and includes many changes. Reduced visual glitches when using NVIDIA DLSS, added options for frame generation and support for AMD FSR 3.1.1, which improves overall graphics. Performance issues have also been fixed, especially for the Steam Deck, and features have been added, such as smooth controller switching.
On the gameplay side, various issues have been fixed, including objects disappearing, interaction bugs, and NPC behavior. For example, the UFO sound on the stairs has been removed, and issues with researching the Blue Gem and loading the environment have now been resolved. Fixes also affect character animations and interaction with the environment, which improves the smoothness of the gameplay.
