According to a legal analyst, Ubisoft is breaking the law with its training program, the participation of which is prohibited for men
A loud scandal has erupted around Ubisoft. After news of a new training program aimed exclusively at women and non-binary people became known, the company received a wave of criticism. Legal analyst Andrew Esquire said that such segregation is illegal and contrary to the principles of equality.
According to the expert, the Ubisoft program violates anti-discrimination laws. Esquire compared the situation to the recent lawsuit against Disney, where the company also faced allegations of discrimination in hiring.
In his video, Esquire noted that in the gaming industry, as in any other field, men make up a significant portion part of the professional community. Excluding men from the mentoring program, in his opinion, is clear discrimination.
Ubisoft tries to justify its actions by arguing that the program is not an internship and does not provide any guarantee of employment. However, according to experts, this does not relieve the company of responsibility for discriminatory actions.
It is unknown whether lawsuits will be filed against Ubisoft because of this training program. After all, this isn't the first time the company has made controversial moves in its games or real life for the sake of "diversity."
