Steam set a new online record - more than 39 million users
Steam surpassed 39 million concurrent users for the first time in its history: that's 39,205,447 people connected to Valve's digital distribution platform at the same time.
The new record represents a sharp increase in the number of concurrent users since the beginning of 2024, when the new year brought a new record for concurrent users of almost 33.7 million. The number of people playing games simultaneously, according to SteamDB, has grown from 10.8 million when that January record was set to more than 12.5 million in August.
